Philip Cortesi, Principal, St Anne’s Catholic school:
"I think in terms of looking at the school wide picture, when we look at all our children, and all our children have a right to learn. All our children have a right to succeed and will succeed. And I think one of the key things in terms of making something like narrative assessment work; it has got to be a school wide thing. It won’t work if you have little pockets just happening with other areas of the school not on board with it. So, one of the things that we have made a commitment to now, that narrative assessment is a school wide tool, it is being embedded in school wide practice in terms of if an effective assessment tool to monitor the progress and achievement of these children who happen to have specific needs."
